Philanthropy in China

APC visited Beijing and Shanghai last November and had the opportunity to share our Asian philanthropy approach to emerging Chinese philanthropists at the China Global Philanthropy Institute’s Beijing campus.

Our Shanghai roundtable was attended by both members and other social investors who were either using their business activities for social good, or looking to improve social impact through better supply chain management. Interestingly, the attendees were mainly overseas Chinese who were residing in Shanghai and have diverse business interests in the country.

APC will be organising a study trip to Yunnan, China in March for our members and extending this to other active philanthropists through our partners. The trip would be focused on learning about rural development solutions in China, with specific focus on water, migrant children and elderly, and improvement of livelihoods through enhanced agricultural practices.
