About ASEAN Philanthropy Dialogue

The ASEAN Philanthropy Dialogue is a project under Asia Philanthropy Circle (APC), which seeks to bring together ASEAN leaders, members of the Asia Philanthropy Circle, and working-level ASEAN government officials to discuss and agree to act on issues where philanthropy can work with governments in significant ways to address pressing social issues. It will harness the collective intelligence and resources of strategic Asian philanthropists to grow cross-sectoral partnerships in ASEAN and grow social impact jointly.

The key objectives of the dialogue are to:
(a) Provide an exclusive, first-of-its-kind, action-oriented platform for exchange among ASEAN political and philanthropic leaders.
(b) Allow government to acknowledge the role of philanthropy, and to provide advice and support on specific fields that ASEAN philanthropists are working on; similarly, allow philanthropists to deepen their understanding of how their work can fit into the wider public sector agenda.
(c) Provide leadership to the philanthropy sector in ASEAN, including formulating a common set of aspirations and “rules of engagement” framework on philanthropy across the region.
This dialogue will help focus attention on key social challenges in ASEAN and catalyse joint action, while enhancing efficiency and efficacy in social interventions.

The outcomes of the dialogue will be complemented by the ASEAN Community Impact Fund, a S$100M philanthropic fund supported by APC members.
